San Francisco comes in at 6-1 with top-10 offense and defense, led by Brock Purdy and a defense shaped by Raheem Morris. Las Vegas counters with a high-scoring attack under Klint Kubiak.
The Las Vegas Raiders will travel to the Bay Area for the first time since 2018 for a Week 9 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. Kickoff is set for Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1:25 p.m. PT.
The Raiders’ challenge, according to their game preview, is the “complete package” San Francisco has built across both sides of the ball. The 49ers enter at 6-1 and, as described by the Raiders, are one of four NFL teams with both a top-10 scoring offense and a top-10 defense.
On offense, the 49ers’ passing production centers on Brock Purdy. The preview places Purdy in the league’s top five in completion percentage (69.2), passing touchdowns (15), and passer rating (110.1), and says his 56.4% passing success rate leads the NFL. It also notes that two receiving targets, Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel, have combined for six of Purdy’s 15 passing touchdowns this season.
The preview also attributes San Francisco’s defensive strength to the hire of Raheem Morris as defensive coordinator. It describes the unit as ranking third in fewest yards allowed (2,095) and fourth in fewest points allowed (139), with linebacker Fred Warner listed as sixth in total tackles (72).
For Las Vegas, the preview frames Klint Kubiak’s first season as head coach as the main offensive backdrop. It says the Raiders have scored 221 points, second in the league, and it highlights quarterback Kirk Cousins as second in passing touchdowns with 19. The preview adds a coaching familiarity wrinkle, noting Kubiak had been San Francisco’s passing game coordinator in 2023 and that his brother, Klay Kubiak, is San Francisco’s offensive coordinator.
The Raiders’ opponent profile is further shaped by roster turnover and additions described in the preview. It lists 49ers additions including WR Mike Evans, WR Deebo Samuel, LB Dre Greenlaw, DL DeForest Buckner, and CB Nate Hobbs, while also citing losses including RB Brian Robinson Jr., G Spencer Burford, WR Jauan Jennings, and WR Kendrick Bourne.
