Secretary of War Pete Hegseth met with Singaporean Minister for Defense Chan Chun Sing and reaffirmed the strength of the longstanding U.S.-Singapore defense partnership.

On October 28, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth met with Singaporean Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing.

Secretary Hegseth and Minister Chan reaffirmed the strength of the longstanding U.S.-Singapore defense partnership. The Secretary underscored the United States' continued support to Singapore's capability development, modernization efforts, and training. He also expressed support for Singapore's chairmanship of the ADMM-Plus and ASEAN in 2027, which will mark the 50th anniversary of U.S.-ASEAN relations.

The leaders agreed to continue close cooperation to advance shared security interests in the Pacific and to strengthen the bilateral defense relationship.
