Kansas City’s online ballot is live for the Royals Hall of Fame Class of 2027, with the regular fan vote running until Nov. 16 at 11:59 p.m. CT and a lineup that includes first-time eligible alumni such as Zack Greinke and Eric Hosmer.
Kansas City Royals fans can begin voting today for the Royals Hall of Fame Class of 2027. The Royals said the online portion of the Regular Phase fan vote will remain open through Monday, Nov. 16, at 11:59 p.m. CT
The Royals Hall of Fame voting process has two phases. The Regular Phase is focused on eligible former players and managers, while a Veterans Committee vote is determined by the Royals Hall of Fame Executive Board and can consider non-field personnel and alumni whose eligibility falls outside the Regular Phase mechanics.
For first-time eligibility, the Royals outlined requirements that alumni must have been active with the team for at least three seasons and reach a minimum threshold of production or equivalent service (1,500 plate appearances, 300 innings pitched, or managed the equivalent of three full seasons), and they must have been inactive in the role for at least three calendar years before the election.
The Class of 2027 ballot includes four first-time eligible Royals Alumni. Those newly eligible candidates are RHP Zack Greinke, 1B Eric Hosmer, RHP Ian Kennedy, and 3B Mike Moustakas.
Returning eligible alumni on the 2027 ballot are OF Carlos Beltrán, 1B/DH Billy Butler, OF Lorenzo Cain, RHP Wade Davis, SS Alcides Escobar, RHP Kelvin Herrera, RHP Greg Holland, and RHP Joakim Soria, all listed by the Royals in alphabetical order on the release.
The Royals also described how fan voting is weighted and how election works. The online fan ballot accounts for 12 full votes for each of the top five vote getters, and any candidate receiving 75% of the vote will be elected and scheduled for induction during the 2027 Royals season.
