Salesforce takes its Agentforce pitch to FIFA’s 2026 and 2027 World Cups
The company says Slack and its Agentforce 360 software will support tournament operations, stakeholder communications and fan engagement across FIFA’s next two flagship events.
Salesforce is putting its Agentforce 360 AI suite and Slack collaboration software in front of two of the world’s biggest sports properties, saying on June 5 that it will support FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 as an Official Tournament Supporter. The company framed the deal as a live showcase for its agentic-enterprise pitch, where employees, software agents, data and apps work together in one system. For the men’s World Cup, Salesforce said Slack will coordinate workforce management across the 16 host cities in Mexico, Canada and the United States. FIFA says the tournament will be staged across those three countries and will be the largest in the event’s history, with 48 teams. Salesforce did not disclose what the agreement is worth, but it is positioning its software as the operating layer for real-time workflows during a global event with a huge audience. The 2027 women’s tournament in Brazil is the deeper AI test. Salesforce said Slack and the Agentforce 360 Platform will power fan engagement on FIFA’s digital channels, with autonomous agents answering questions and tailoring support across channels. In Salesforce’s terms, Agentforce 360 is the company’s full portfolio, and the platform is the layer used to build and manage AI agents with data, security and governance built in. Salesforce also said both tournaments will use Agentforce Service, Sales and Marketing to manage host-city, supplier and stakeholder communications. That makes the partnership broader than a consumer-facing chatbot; it ties together customer service, outreach and back-office coordination in one workflow. The business logic is clear: if FIFA can move information and decisions through Slack and Salesforce more efficiently, the company gets a public example of its software handling complexity at scale. The company is leaning on Slack’s new positioning as its work operating system. Salesforce says Slack now brings people, data, apps and agents into a single conversational workspace, and markets it as the front door to Salesforce applications. In a tournament setting, that matters because host-city operations, volunteer coordination and issue escalation all depend on fast handoffs across time zones and languages. FIFA, for its part, said the partnership should help connect participating teams, host cities, volunteers, partners and fans through digital solutions. The federation also cast the agreement as part of the broader operational challenge of delivering two landmark competitions, one in North America in 2026 and another in Brazil in 2027. The release did not describe any sponsorship fee or implementation timetable beyond the tournaments themselves. Salesforce announcement
For Salesforce, the deal is less about immediate financial disclosure than about proving that Agentforce 360 can do useful work in a live, high-pressure environment. The company has spent the past year recasting its portfolio around AI agents, collaboration and unified data, and the FIFA partnership gives it a globally visible test case ahead of next year’s World Cup kickoff. Why It Matters
- The deal gives Salesforce a highly visible showcase for Agentforce 360 and Slack in a real-world, high-pressure environment.
- It shows how enterprise AI is moving from internal pilots to operations, service and fan engagement workflows.
- A successful rollout could strengthen Salesforce’s pitch to large organizations that need coordination across many cities, partners and users.
- The announcement adds no price tag, so the near-term revenue impact is unclear.
