Apana is listed at 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, projecting as a compact, downhill-style linebacker who can compete in space and attack gaps. He attends Kamehameha Kapalama in Honolulu, Hawaii, and ranks as the No. 3 overall player in Hawaii, according to the recruiting report tied to the commitment.

With the addition, Apana becomes the 15th overall recruit for TCU in the 2027 cycle, and the first linebacker on the roster of incoming signees for that class.
