Tennessee wraps the offseason portion of its football calendar, shifting from structured team work to the long evaluation window of training camp.
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Titans have officially finished their offseason workouts, completing nine organized team activities (OTAs) and a two-day minicamp before the scheduled break that leads into training camp.
In an offseason wrap published by the Titans, Senior Writer and Editor Jim Wyatt laid out 10 thoughts as the team turns the page on the voluntary-to-mandatory progression of spring work. While the focus at this stage is often less about game-day execution and more about development, the end of OTAs and minicamp matters because it marks the point at which coaches stop teaching and start preparing for the demands of full-speed camp reps.
The immediate takeaway from the Titans’ latest update is the calendar reset. The offseason phase is built around installing schemes in manageable steps, building cohesion among position groups, and evaluating how players handle coverage checks, protections, assignments, and situational football as the practices get more structured. With nine OTAs completed and minicamp concluded, that work is now complete for the spring, and the team’s attention shifts to what it can carry forward.
For teams like Tennessee, the transition from late spring to training camp is also a test of readiness. Conditioning and communication may be the most visible results of spring work, but the less obvious products are internal ones: how quickly units come together after breaks, whether younger players can keep up with the pace of expectations, and how consistently veterans execute details without daily repetition.
Wyatt’s “10 thoughts” approach reflects how offseason evaluation tends to be broader than any single position group. Even without preseason games in the background, coaches use this time to watch roles stabilize, to see which players handle responsibility in fast-moving drills, and to determine how practice-day tempo translates when competition tightens during camp.
It is also a reminder that the offseason calendar is designed to create a runway rather than a finish line. The Titans’ spring sessions are meant to set players up for training camp, where the workload increases and the margin for error shrinks. The questions that remain after OTAs and minicamp typically are the same ones that define camp: who can separate in competitive drills, who earns consistency across different looks, and how units respond when the practice gets harder.
As training camp draws near, the Titans’ offseason wrap indicates what fans should watch for once padded work begins. The most important indicators will be continuity in the fundamentals established during OTAs and minicamp, the speed at which players pick up assignments again after the break, and the overall sharpness of the team’s operation when tempo and competition rise.
