The Saints announced the 2026 Hall of Fame class, bringing back two longtime franchise staples who built their reputations in New Orleans even after starring elsewhere in the NFL.
New Orleans is getting a familiar pair back at the center of its annual franchise celebration. The New Orleans Saints announced Thursday that offensive tackle Terron Armstead and running back Mark Ingram II have been selected for the Saints Hall of Fame in 2026.
Both players are being framed by the team as more than résumé products. In the Saints announcement, the club emphasized that Armstead and Ingram II earned their most recognizable work while representing the franchise, “making their names” and generating their strongest production in Saints colors. The team also highlighted their personal bond to New Orleans, with Armstead quoted in the release reflecting on what the city means to him.
Armstead’s career arc includes notable seasons outside the Crescent City, the team points out, including his time as a Miami Dolphin. Ingram II’s path similarly included stints away from New Orleans, including his tenure as a Baltimore Raven. Still, both are described in the announcement as Saints “through and through,” a point the organization ties directly to the Hall of Fame honor.
Ingram II’s inclusion carries the additional weight of what the Saints often associate with the modern era of their identity, a running game and a culture of toughness and execution. While the team did not detail statistics in the visible portion of its release, the selection itself indicates that the Saints view his impact as enduring franchise history rather than only an era-specific flash.
For Armstead, the Hall of Fame nod recognizes the role of an elite offensive tackle in the rhythm of a team. The release identifies him in his position and connects his legacy to what he meant to the Saints during his prime seasons. The selection also functions as a formal acknowledgement of long-form value, a reminder that the most important line-of-scrimmage work does not always translate into the same headline visibility as other positions, even when it defines the offense.
The Saints Hall of Fame process also matters for how the team tells its story to the public and to the next generation of fans. Class announcements tend to anchor the summer calendar, creating a focal point for celebrations, alumni recognition, and renewed attention on the franchise’s greatest players.
What to watch next is the full 2026 ceremony timing and the details the Saints provide about the inductees’ roles in the program, including any additional class members and the organization’s plans for the in-person recognition. For supporters, it will likely be the most direct moment to hear how the franchise views the through-line from those New Orleans seasons to the broader NFL careers that followed.
