THE APEX TIMES
With the Cardinals getting limited availability at the running-back position, Tyler Allgeier became the focal point, handling a workload not seen since 2023.
In the Cardinals’ offensive plan, Tyler Allgeier briefly became the featured option after Jeremiyah Love left early with a right ankle injury. According to Arizona’s game recap, Love played only 15 snaps, leaving the Cardinals with one healthy primary running back for much of the matchup.
Arizona leaned into that reality. Allgeier played a season-high 48 snaps (59% of the offensive snaps), which the team noted was his most playing time since 2023. He produced 147 rushing yards and added 44 receiving yards, finishing with two touchdowns.
Allgeier’s run-heavy role was paired with a receiving workload that reflected Arizona’s need to keep drives moving. The recap also described how coach Mike LaFleur worked the idea of “conserving energy” around the increased involvement, with Allgeier saying he planned to save breaths if the game stretched into longer drives.
The workload shifted at other positions as well. Bam Knight’s involvement came amid a notable head shot situation that did not draw an immediate penalty flag, while wide receivers were rationed by injuries and snap distribution, with Michael Wilson at a season-low 79% of snaps and Kendrick Bourne at 25% before exiting early.
Defensively, the Cardinals played increased snaps at key positions, highlighted by safeties Budda Baker and Andrew Wingard and linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. playing 100% of defensive snaps in the team’s recap.
