Louisville and Kentucky each saw another player come off the board as the NBA Draft reached its second round.
The NBA Draft’s second round on Wednesday night included two more players connected to Kentucky programs, with Ryan Conwell from the University of Louisville and Otega Oweh from the University of Kentucky selected, according to WLKY.
WLKY reported that Conwell, representing UofL, was among the athletes taken during the second round, continuing a run of Louisville players being drafted after earlier selections in the event.
For Kentucky, WLKY said Oweh was also chosen in the second round, adding to the list of Wildcats who have drawn NBA attention at the draft.
The second round selections followed the first round earlier Wednesday night, bringing additional roster possibilities for NBA teams looking to fill positions through younger, league-ready prospects.
For the programs involved, the picks extend the reach of their recent recruiting and player development into the professional ranks, while also creating offseason timelines for the athletes as they transition from college competition to NBA team structures.
