Israel and Hezbollah Agree to Ceasefire After Overnight Fighting in Southern Lebanon

A last-minute agreement halted heavy combat between Israeli forces and Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon, after the fighting threatened to complicate an initial U.S.-Iran plan aimed at ending the broader conflict. U.S. and Iranian officials are now expected to meet to negotiate longer-term terms.
