U.S. says it agreed to a “stand down” after weekend strikes exchanged with Iran

After a series of strikes over the weekend, the United States and Iran traded accusations that each side violated a ceasefire arrangement, the BBC reported. The U.S. said it has now agreed to pause or “stand down,” aiming to reduce further escalation.
